NEW DELHI: Delhi University’s School of Open Learning is planning to notify admission on Thursday, the administration revealed. However, the teachers have written to the Prime Minister and the HRD minister to intervene and instruct the university to start the admission process at the earliest.
The teachers have complained that usually the admissions to the distance learning institute starts in June and ends by August.

This year, however, it has not even been notified till date. They have alleged that the administration has not informed them of any developments that may be delaying the notification, even though they are an integral part of the admission planning process.
SOL staff council secretary Janmejoy Khuntia said, The students who come to us are those who cannot afford higher education anywhere else. This delay, when the process of regular colleges is already over, will lead to these students fleshing out money to go to fake colleges and unverified institutions.”
HC Pokhriyal, director of the school, clarified that the “UGC held a meeting with several ODLs on August 2, and is going to notify a decision on Thursday. We will also notify our admissions after this.”
